Mental health is the condition of our our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act.
Often the term 'mental health' is a substitute for 'mental illness' however all variations of one's state is in regards to mental health.
There is great strength in being you.
There is great strength in speaking up.
There is great strength in showing up.
There is great strength in crying.
There is great strength in grieving.
There is great strength in healing.
There is great strength in taking time out.
There is great strength in acknowledging.
There is great strength in accepting.
There is great strength in just coping.
There is great strength in thriving.
“If the mountain seems too big today
then climb a hill instead.
If the morning brings you sadness it's okay to stay in bed.
If the day ahead weighs heavy and your plans feel like a curse, there's no shame in rearranging; don't make
yourself feel worse.
If a shower stings like needles
and a bath feels like you'll drown, if you haven't washed your hair for days don't throw away your crown.
A day is not a lifetime, a rest is not defeat.
Don't think of it as failure, just a quiet, kind retreat.
It's okay to take a moment from an anxious, fractured mind.
The world will not stop turning while you get realigned.
The mountain will still be there when you want to try again. You can climb it
in your own time.
Just love yourself til then.”

The most important thing to understand.
You are not alone.
With every bad day you have - you are not alone.
With every symptom that comes your way - you are not alone.
With every criticism, comment or judgement you receive from someone who doesn’t understand - you are not alone.
With every feeling of isolation, loneliness, embarrassment, shame, defeat - you are not alone.
Hang in there today and everyday ~ the problems don’t always go away but you get better at managing them.
I promise it’s worth sticking around for the times where you are managing better - that’s a win and the best feeling in the world
What will give you even the slightest feeling of relief right now?
When my team or I are struggling (think crazy stress, anxiety, depression, exhaustion) - we ask, what will give me even the slightest feeling of relief right now?
This isn’t something to take advantage of nor should it be used as avoidance or an “easy way out”. It’s for those times when you feel like you’re in a complete rut and are overwhelmed with what to do or where to even start. It’s a way to release some pressure so you have room to move more freely forward.
Will I feel relief if I ….
~ take a mental health day at work?
~ cancel tomorrow’s dinner date with friends?
~ take a day just to catch up on house chores and nothing else?
~ have a nap?
~ send an email to my colleagues saying I’m offline - that way I can catch up on work?
~ don’t reply to my texts or emails?
~ jump off social media for the day?
~ tell someone honestly that my task won’t be ready today?
Give yourself permission to relieve some pressure and you will then in turn, create momentum again to get back into action.
